What is Aavishkar Robotics IRC League 2025? A Complete Guide for Students

Introduction

The world of robotics is buzzing with excitement as the Aavishkar Robotics IRC League 2025 gets underway. Designed to nurture creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills in students, the IRC League (Indian Robotics Championship) is one of India’s most respected robotics competitions. Every year, young innovators from schools and institutions across India compete to design intelligent robots that tackle real-world challenges using STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) principles.

What is the Aavishkar Robotics IRC League?

The IRC League is a national-level robotics competition that encourages students to explore robotics and automation through hands-on experience. It combines engineering design, coding, and teamwork, helping children think critically and create innovative solutions. Participants compete in regional rounds before advancing to the national finals, where the best teams represent their region.

The 2025 edition will see new themes, exciting tasks, and enhanced learning opportunities for young engineers and innovators.

Competition Format and Categories

The competition is divided into multiple categories based on age group and skill level, such as junior, middle, and senior divisions. Each level presents unique design and programming challenges that test creativity, efficiency, and innovation. Teams must design, build, and program their robots to complete missions within a given time frame — promoting logical thinking and technical skills.

  • Season 2025 game : In Mix and Match, two teams collaborate to score points by building stacks of game objects, which are Pins and Beams, and then placing those stacks in Goals to increase their value. The game involves strategic stacking of different colour pins, colour matching to goals, and efficient use of human loaders to introduce additional pins all in a minute with robots the students have built

  • Age Group: Middle and high school students (Grades 4–8).
  • Format: Teams of 2–6 students design, build robots using VEX IQ kits and program/drive them to race against time, to maximise their score according to strategy developed for the season game. Each season has a new challenge theme as  a Game(e.g., stacking, transporting, or navigating arenas).
    • Alliance match : Along with one more team, maximise the score which is given  to both the teams. Driver controlled.
    • Robot Skills Challenge :  Drivers take turn to control the robot and maximise the score racing against time.
    • Autonomous Skills Challenge : Program the Robot to play the game, maximise the score racing against time.
  • Why it matters: Winners qualify for the VEX Robotics World Championship in the US, offering students international exposure and recognition and an edge to their college applications.
  • At The STEM Makers: Students are trained in robot design, coding (block & text-based), driver skills, notebooking, strategy planning and facing interviews, with mock competitions to build confidence.

🔹 Avishkaar League 2025 : Code of Duty

  • What it is: Avishkaar League is Asia’s Biggest Robotics and Coding League that aims to celebrate Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and make innovation an area of passion for the young minds of the developing world.

  • Season 2025 game : In Avishkaar IRC League Code of Duty, two robots have to race against time to accomplish the category wise task and thereby maximize their score as follows, using coordinated action amongst the two robots.
    • Junior Level: Saviour(Manual) robot equipped with a gripper mechanism, collects Aid dumpers from the relief depot and delivers them to three different Command Posts. Warrior(programmable) robot collects aid dumpers from the command post and delivers them to the border zone.

      • Middle Level: T-72 Ajeya (Programmable Robot) has to extract the resources from all four Severance Nodes one by one and store them in all four Base Camps one at a time.  TAC-V (manual robot) must harvest resources from all four base camps and deliver them to the Correct Outposts completing the structure order for the outpost activation.
